Mark Broughton is the area’s leading surface artisan. Mark’s certification and advanced training began as an apprentice in Yorkshire, where he earned his certification from the City Guilds of London Institute. Early projects included stately homes, castles, and historic buildings in England. Mark later moved “across the pond” where he has enjoyed a career as a faux painter for motion picture studios, commercial businesses, restaurants, and private homes across the United States.
With more than 30 years of experience, Mark is fully versed in all decorative faux finishes, including, but not limited to: European plasters (such as English, French and Italian Old World plasters), metallic finishes and leafing, marbles, glazes, stencils, modellos, aged and distressed finishes, liming, and wood grains. He has transformed every surface imaginable from wall to floors to countertops to 30-foot exterior columns. In addition to maintaining a full schedule of clients and projects, Mark has also instructed students at York College and UNC-W.
